California Privacy Rights (CCPA Compliance)
If you are a resident of California, you are provided with specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These rights are designed to give you transparency and control over how your personal information is collected, used, and shared.
In practice, Pedometer++ is designed to minimize the collection of personal information. Your activity data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. The only information that may leave your device is limited to non-personally identifiable technical data, such as device type and operating system version, which we use in aggregate to improve app development. For non-subscribers, advertisements may be displayed through Google’s AdMob system, but these are configured to exclude personalized ads and user tracking. Mapping and route planning services may also process limited GPS information when you choose to use those features, and these requests are governed by the privacy policies of the third-party providers involved. At no point is your personal data sold or disclosed to third parties outside of these narrow and necessary technical exceptions.
As a California resident, you have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we may have collected about you, the purposes for which such data may have been used, and the categories of third parties (if any) with whom it may have been shared. Given Pedometer++’s design, such requests usually relate only to technical diagnostic data or limited correspondence you may send to our support team.
You also have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions required by law. Because Pedometer++ does not store your health or activity data outside your device, deletion requests generally apply only to limited support or technical records we may retain.
In addition, you have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. Pedometer++ does not sell your personal information and has no plans to do so. Nonetheless, this right is recognized and honored under California law.
Finally, you are entitled to exercise these rights free of discrimination. Exercising your privacy rights will not affect your ability to use Pedometer++, change your subscription pricing, or alter the quality of the service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, you may submit a verifiable request by contacting our support team. For your protection, and in compliance with the CCPA, we may require identity verification before fulfilling such a request.
